So, you're stuck at home...Likely pretty bored. Some of us have been social distancing & self isolating longer than others. I feel for ya! Today is Day 1 of a mandatory stay at home order for us here in Florida. So far, so good.

But, it did occur to me that my lovely clients will be going without their routine hair care, and may not have all the tools they need at home to keep everything up and running.

No, I am not going to advocate for home hair coloring & home hair cutting. ABSOLUTELY NOT! We can all hold out for a couple weeks.

Instead, I am going to give you a list of my personal favorite tools and products for you to have at home during this time. I hope this helps! You can click the images to access the products for purchase, as well.

Wet Brush Quick Dry Brush - Wet Brush is truly a game changer when it comes to the ultimate hair necessity ... your hair brush! Wet Brush technology features Intelli-Flex bristles to prevent breakage, hair loss, and split ends. Remember, your hair is at its weakest when it is wet.

Babyliss Flat Iron - Babyliss flat irons are a great professional addition to your hair arsenal. This particular iron boasts a high temp of 450 degrees. Please do not use it that hot! It also features longer plates for quicker straightening. I have owned a Babyliss flat iron for over 10 years now, and it is still a go-to for me. Stick with 1"-1.25" for most hair lengths. Shorter hair should use smaller plate sizes and longer hair should go 1.5"+.

Revlon One-Step Hot Air Brush - Though I was a bit skeptical of this rage. I have to say, it is becoming an almost essential tool for the day to day user. Heat. Volume. Smoothing. All in one shot. This is great for the person that struggles with round brushing or just blow drying at home.

Goody Ouchless Hair Elastics - If we're going to be hanging out at home for the next 30 days, let's be honest - most of us are going to be rocking a messy bun of sorts. If you're going to pull your hair into your favorite pony-style, please use an ouchless elastic! I use these daily, and have been for many years. There are no metal clasps or exposed elastics to grab, snag, break, and otherwise damage your hair. Depending on your air thickness & length, you can go with smaller or larger ties, but honestly, your standard size is great for anyone. (Tip: If you're feeling like your hair is too heavy for the elastic, double up. Use two instead of one. I do it all the time!)

Boho Headbands - Ditch the ponytail. Give your hair a rest. I looooooove headbands, but I especially love these with a bit of flair. Just because you can't visit your favorite salon or restaurant doesn't mean you can't rock a fun style. Soft, stretchy headbands are going to be your best friend. Mark my words. Not only will they give your hair a rest from being pulled into a top knot or messy bun, these headbands can help cover those *gasp* wisdom highlights that are going to start popping up. Embrace your sparkles, ladies! And just cover them up with a cutesie headband in the meantime. (Tip: It's way cheaper than your stylist fixing that botched box color you are starting to think is a great idea.)

Turbie Twist - Since these things first came out, and then my mom & grandmother decided they knew how to make them (they did), these hair towels have been a staple in my home. They are great for giving your hair (and neck) the rest that it needs. Wrapping your hair in a bath towel is a great way to soak up that extra water...but, let's be honest, it's heavy! Turbie Twists are the solution. They're lightweight. They're microfiber. And they come in some pretty neat colors & patterns. Wrap your hair after a shower to soak up the excess water. The microfiber aspect really does a great job of reducing moisture in your hair - which means less heat time needed (BONUS!!). You can also use these towels when you're taking a bath (or shower) and don't want to get your hair wet (please don't be a daily washer!). Doing an at-home facial? Wrap that hair up and keep it out of your face. I could go on & on about these ingenious things, but the reality is, try it! You'll love it!

HoMedics Foot Bath - I get it, your fingers & piggies are gonna be a bit neglected for a little while. But, fear not, break out a foot bath and soak your toesies in your favorite salt or essential oil solutions. If you have some beautiful weather & a great back yard, prop yourself up outside, even. A 30 minute foot soak is a great way to slow down, relax, and enjoy the peacefulness of your own home. Take this time to invest in your own self-care.

Wet Brush Wide Tooth Comb - Speaking of self-care. And not to beat a dead horse. But, I really do love Wet Brush. Take this comb in the shower & use it to help distribute your conditioner or hair treatment of choice (I recommend Olaplex, personally, but we will get there). This comb helps detangle, reduce breakage, and minimize the pain of brushing tangled hair. I do recommend always running a wide-tooth comb through wet hair before you even touch it with any kind of brush.

Microfiber Face Towels - I love microfiber anything. When it comes to beauty products, I think they're just the bees knees. I use microfiber towels for my skin care routine (it's a pretty simple one) because it is easy on my skin. I also feel like any excess oils & grime that may be left behind after washing is just instantly swept away.

Olaplex At-Home Hair Care - Here it is y'all! I love Olaplex. And I can't just tell you enough how amazing of a product line it is. But, Olaplex has now decided to open up options for stylists to still earn income while we are at home by providing links like the one here for you - the consumer - to purchase direct from Olaplex! How cool? Not only that, I mentioned earlier about hair treatments, their No.3 Hair Protector is now available in a larger 8.5oz size!! Their products are designed to repair and protect vital bonds in the hair, thus leaving you with stronger, shiner, and visibly healthier hair. Click the link to purchase your very own at-home hair care regimen direct from the manufacturer themselves. Start with No. 3 (once a week) and No. 4 & 5 for your day to day hair washing needs.

Good luck, my friends! I hope this helps point you in some direction during this uncertain time. And I hope this gives you an idea of some of the cool products that are out there at your finger tips. Stay safe! Stay healthy! And I will see you all soon!
